Art was a fan of the “folk music revival” of the 1950’s and 60’s. He played folk music and ballads in high school & college in duos and trios with 6 and 12 string guitars and 5 string banjo. After college he put his instruments up. He didn’t play again until coming to Green Valley and joining the gas station jam on Del Sol around 2011.

He met Jay and PJ Sherman in 2012. The first song they performed in public was Utah Phillips’ “Orphan Train” in 2013. This led to the founding of the Bountiful band and countless gigs for local senior care organizations and recreational clubs.
