John started playing violin in elementary school, and as a part of the school orchestra, played for musicals and productions, learning every song from classics like The Music Man, Oklahoma, and many others.
He dropped out of the music scene in the 9th grade, and although he retained an avid interest, only returned to playing music in preparation for his retirement in 2015 with the help and support of the Desert Bluegrass Association. Since then, John has played for tips in Tubac bars and restaurants in duos and rock bands, eventually finding his “forever home” with Bountiful BG&R seven years ago.
